Description

Char Dham Yatra is one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism, covering four holy shrines in Uttarakhand—Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. It is believed that completing this journey washes away sins and leads to moksha (liberation). Every year, lakhs of devotees undertake this spiritual journey to seek blessings and experience divine peace.


Four Sacred Shrines of Char Dham Yatra

1️⃣ Yamunotri (Origin of River Yamuna) – Dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, this temple is the first stop of the Char Dham circuit.
2️⃣ Gangotri (Origin of River Ganga) – The birthplace of the holy River Ganga, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga.
3️⃣ Kedarnath (Lord Shiva’s Jyotirlinga) – One of the twelve Jyotirlingas, Kedarnath is nestled in the Himalayas and is a significant pilgrimage for Lord Shiva devotees.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1 : - Pickup From Haridwar/Rishikesh To Jankchati 200km Time Taken 9To10 Hrs

  • You will be picked up from Haridwar in the morning and will be taken to the Barkot
  • One can also witness the beauty of the yoga capital of India, Rishikesh while waiting for the test.
  • Meanwhile in the journey, relish the beautiful view which is peaceful for the mind.
  • On reaching Barkot, explore the small pilgrim town situated at the banks of the Yamuna river.
  • Get transferred to the hotel and fulfill check-in formalities.
  • Have dinner at the hotel and retire for the day.
  • Make sure to have a good sleep to remove all stress and prepare for the next day

Day 2 : - Jankichati To Yamunotri and 5Km Trek From Jankichati To Yamnotri Temple And Return Jankchati Stay

  • Rise and get ready to be served with divinity as today is the first stop of the pilgrimage.
  • Have breakfast at the hotel and start the day. Drive to Yamunotri Dham, India's second most holy river from where the River Yamuna takes birth.
  • Reach Janki Chatti, the point from where the 5km trek starts, you can opt for a walk, pony, or palki.
  • Before starting the trek, bathe in Jamnabai Kund, believed to cleanse all sins and protect from an untimely and painful death.
  • On reaching the temple, bow the heads down to praise the mother Yamuna. The idol of Ganga Devi is housed in the revered temple.
  • Visit Surya Kund, a hot spring near the temple. Boil some rice and potatoes in the kund and accept it as a Prasad of the Devi.
  • Trek down to Janki Chatti and later drive back to Barkot for an overnight stay.
  • Have dinner at the hotel to end the day.
  • Take a good sleep to gain energy for the further tour

Day 3 : - Jankchati To Uttarkashi/Netala 150km Drive Time Taken 8to9 Hrs

  • Wake up in the land of spirituality.
  • Get ready to move ahead from Barkot after breakfast. Today drove towards Uttarkashi, the holy town situated along the banks of river Bhagirathi and is one of the district capitals of Uttarakhand.
  • On arrival check in to the hotel & freshen up for local sightseeing.
  • Visit Vishwanath temple situated in the heart of the town.
  • It is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Northern India. Re constructed in 1857 by Maharani Khaneti Devi of Tehri State in the ancient architectural style.
  • Followed by, Shakti Temple is famous for its big Trishul of about 6 meters in height and a circumference of 90 CM As per the epics, this Shakti was thrown on the devils by the Goddess Durga.
  • Return to the hotel to have dinner.
  • Overnight at the hotel as included in Char Dham yatra

Day 4 : - Uttarkashi/Netala To Gangotri Temple Darsan and Return Stay Uttarkashi/Gangori/Netala Same Palace 200km Time Taken 9 To 10 Hrs

  • Wake up with a breathtaking view of the mesmerizing mountains all around.
  • Early morning, post breakfast drive to Gangotri via Gangnani.
  • Take a holy dip in Garam Kund at Gangnani.
  • Drive further to Gangotri via the beautiful Harshil Valley, famous for its natural beauty and the majestic view of the Deodar trees and mountains.
  • On arrival at Shree Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganges which is also called Bhagirathi at its origin.
  • On arrival at Gangotri Dham, worship Goddess Ganga, who is said to have descended on earth to absolve the sins of humankind.
  • After the Aarti, soak the beauty of the place & relax while witnessing the greenery around you.
  • Later drive back to Uttarkashi and enjoy dinner along with an
  • overnight stay

Day 5 : - Uttarkashi/Netala To Sonprayag 270km Time Taken 10 to 11 Hrs

  • Wake up early and get transferred to sonprayag after breakfast.
  • Get a mesmerizing view of the Ganga all across the journey. See the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi river at Devprayag.
  • The lunch stop is at Srinagar (on your own) which is the best place in the Garhwal region. Afterward, there is no such facility to have food,
  • so make sure to keep all essentials from here only.
  • Have a view of Rudraprayag and Ukhimath on the journey.
  • Visit ArdhNarishwar Temple (if time permits).
  • On reaching Sonprayag get transferred to the hotel.
  • Enjoy dinner at the hotel and retire for the day

Day 6 : - Sonprayag To Gaurikund 5km Drive and Gaurikund To Kedarnath 19km Trek One Way Stay in Kedarnath Time Taken 8 To 9 Hrs

  • Wake up early · 3Am
  • Sonprayag where your trekking to Kedarnath will start. we have to walk to the Government Union taxi stand, to reach Gaurikund. (Walk for 1 Km as no private vehicles are allowed in Gaurikund) ·Reach Gaurikund,
  • Start the trek to Kedarnath from Gaurikund. ·gaurikund hot water bath
  • You can take ponies or palanquins for the journey to make it slightly on comfortable·side. (Own Expense). ·
  • Trek through the beautiful valley and river stream. ·You can take a lunch stop in between and continue the journey, you will get to see the Kedarnath Temple,
  • situated right at the center of the valley with mountains.
  • On reaching Kedarnath,
  • you'll witness the whole valley is filled with the sound of ringing ·bells and prayers going on everywhere this will surely provide relief to your soul. ·
  • Overnight stay in Kedarnath.

Day 7 : - Kedarnath To Sonprayag And Drive Sonprayag to Sari Village Same 19km Trek From kedarnath To Gaurikund and 5KmDrive

  • Wake up early and have a delicious breakfast.
  • visit bhairav temple, adi shankar ., modi caves
  • Head towards Gaurikund from Kedarnath, you can take ponies or palanquins for the journey to make it slightly on a comfortable side. (Own Expense).
  • Once you reach Gaurikund from there will proceed to Sonprayag by a government, Taxi stand .Arrive at Sonprayag from where you'll go to Guptkashi/Rampur
  • Walk for 1 Km is required at Sonpragyag as no private vehicles are allowed after a certain point)
  • Overnight stay in sonprayag or Sari Village Same 19km

Day 8 : - Sonprayag Sari Village To Chopta Tungnath and return stay Chota

  • Wake up in the morning freshen up have breakfast Check out from the hotel. Later depart for Tungnath temple via Chopta.
  • Reach Chopta and start trekking to Tungnath temple it is around a 5-6 km trek distance it takes 2-3 hours.
  • Reach Tungnath temple and do some prayer. Later start the trek to Chandrashiela which is around 1 km from Tungnath temple.
  • Reach Chandrashila and enjoy the 360° view. Later trek down to Chopta.
  • Reach Chopta by 4-5 pm Dinner and
  • Overnight stay in Chopta (Tents) (Meals: Breakfast and Dinner

Day 9: - Chopta To Badrinath 240km Time Taken 8to9 Hrs and mana Village 3km from badrinath

  • You'll then start traveling Badrinath Dham On your journey,
  • you will see some of the most mesmerizing views.
  • Rudhraprayag, karanprayag Enjoy most amzing views natures
  • Reach Badrinath and check in to your hotel, today you will be visiting the Badrinath Temple. Take a dip in Tapt
  • kund and have the Darshan of Badrivishal Aarti in the evening.
  • Return to your hotel for an overnight stay at Badrinath

Day 10 : - Badrinath To Haridwar/Rishikesh Droff 300km Time Taken 10to11 Hrs

  • You'll then start traveling back to Haridwar ·Your tour concludes
  • once you are dropped at the airport/ railway station for your onwards journey.
  • It’s now time to head back home with a plethora of good memories
